One thing you’ve seen over and over again is that every time you an int, double, struct, or any other value type into a method, you’re ing a copy of that value to that method. There’s a name for that: -by value, which means that the entire value of the argument is copied. But there’s another way to arguments into methods, and it’s called by reference.
You can use the ref keyword to allow a method to work directly with the argument that’s ed to it. Just like the out modifier, you need to use ref when you declare the method and also when you call it. It doesn’t matter if it’s a value type or a reference type, either—any variable that you to a method’s ref parameter will be directly altered by that method.
